Yesterday and Today

A nod to our roots

Our first season was a study of our roots. When Mr. Aigner sold his company he left a leather bound book of black and white photos of his first bags AND a self published autobiography. (Check out our Odds and Ends section for a look.) We have combed them both over millions of times and even now, looking through, we always find something new.  He was an incredibly industrious man, passionate about his family and his work. He loved when utility met beauty and thought they should never live apart. He had a nomadic spirit, taking inspiration from found objects, travel and the simple needs of his wife.

So, with that knowledge, where does one begin? Like so many things in life, we find the answers are within ourselves. Starting with a notion, a need, a fancy or a find; the journey begins…
